Infoseite // Sound "fluctuates" / "pumping"

Frage von jenzi:

Hello,

I have a problem with a digitized VHS recording. The sound of quiet after varies according to the 5-second rhythm of loud then quiet again after 5 seconds.

On the recording devices, it is not all top components (JVC HR-S9600, ADVC-100, etc.) and other recordings, the problem is not synonymous.

Is there a simple function in audio programs, or a special software for the sound "on the same level" to get? Normalizing brings in the matter nothing.

Question: which happens only with this VHS tape? Is it in your recording software somewhere a switch "Sound align" or similar?
For me the sounds after a amoklaufenen Tonaussteuerung, as in the 70s in an old cassette recorder. Other tapes and running perfectly again capture.
"Normalize" least ever tried?

Hi,

because everything is already the third-min recordings. 15 years old, it comes within a videotape only a few recordings.

Normalize the sound, I know, but this brings the problem is nothing, because the loudest place to hold the level is normal, and everything shall be increased proportionately. The fluctuation is indeed still there.

In the recording software, there is no align function because only the 1:1 DV stream to disk.

Hello Jenzi,

how is the sound when he directly s.wiedergebenden recorder is bugged? Pumping of levels as synonymous? If the pumps reproducible?

Next, test the playback times in another recorder as synonymous and hear directly from the sound.
