When mixing a movie soundtrack in 5.1, I get on well with and relating to Dynamics.
I was raised the following problem:
As we all know there are movies in a big Dynamics. Example action / horror movie. The dialogues are on "Normallautstärke up to a shock effect, or a car chase in the action film, where one's erratic ansgestiegene loudness whistling around our ears.
How is it then mix in front of these dynamics?
Specifies one of the sub-mixes all the tracks down to make room for Dynamics is the top? If I do this, but the dialogues are at-32db.
 Is that correct?
 How does the pros do?
 Antwort von tommyb:

If one of DTS starts, then the dialogue would be at-31dB. AC3 in turn-27dB for dialogue.
It is important to the final format, because with AC3 still include meta-data in the stream, at DTS it exists to my knowledge does not (hint: dialogue normalization).
