Infoseite // TV-Out in general

Frage von JMitch:

Hi folks,

I was recently with the theme of TV-out graphics cards dealt. However, I came to realize that for the genuine off of PAL / NTSC formats of PC to TV or an analog tape format absolutely inappropriate.

My experience that happens in the following conversion:
- The screen resolution is at 800x600 or 1024x768
- The whole is Bicubic to something less than 768x576 pixels and then inserted into this format - with a black frame (in order to compensate for the overscan)
- The frame rate (60, 75 or 85 Hz) is somehow converted to 50interlace
- The picture is similar, and changed over CVBS or S-video output.

This can be very useful to photos or presentations on the television issue. VsBilder look quite good.

When I PAL-compatible video on the PC have (eg AVI, DivX, MPEG2 or DV, 720x576 interlced 25, B-or A-field first) and would like to take this format True analog output (TV, VHS) that I must necessarily (if not already done) to transform and on DV camcorder or D / A converter output.

I would with the TV-out try something like this would happen:
- The player scales the 720x576 pixels of the video on the screen resolution and creates unsightly lines of mud from the interlace
- Then scaled the graphics card the whole thing again on a smaller resolution, adds a black frame and there are

COOL! From video conversion as can be no question!

So the question is whether with a TV-out is a standards-compliant video conversion is ...

Greeting
Alex

Right. Depending on your graphics card can be synonymous but the screen resolution down to PAL - the current map m nVidia chips it should do so can.

Depends also of the graphics card from - here synonymous run good models with the same 50 Hz

All PC monitor connections except DVI / HDMI are analog.

Long story short, you need a graphics card for your operating system with matching drivers, with the PAL or NTSC Resolutionbetreiben leaves. You should be at least an S-Video - better YUV component output and have PAL / NTSC progressive output either. Then ask you for the TV-output nominal PAL / NTSC Resolutionein - is good.

Well, quite true that not exactly.
It is quite true that you have your desktop or certain programs that appear on the TV display in a PC resolution "look (eg 800x600).
But if the video overlay settings in the graphics drivers are correct, then all video files in full screen on the television output, and in 720x567 and interlaced, that is really PAL!

These synonymous but I would have another question:
I searched for a long time pondering and herumprobieren rausgefunden that the TV out of my graphics card is defective! I always get just a black and white picture, synonymous with all the correct settings and adapters! Have it in nem Kumpel s.Notebook tried, with the same TV and the same cable (S-Video to Scart, switchable between S-Video and composite), and works as hats!

Now the question:
Can I have a cheap PCI graphics card installed, my TV s.die contagious, or because there are compatibility problems?
Did someone perhaps an AGP and a PCI graphics card in use?

The search I share! The graphics cards usually have TV-out, but practically it would be - as with the VCR - an RF-out signal, where the Television for the right TV signal is output directly. Only the channel looking for - and finished!

With SVHS or RGB or CVBS is always fumbling with special cables and adapters go, just to create a Television times adapter.

And if the card is still easy on the desired output format would be set: optimal. But there is something, or is it too outdated technology?

Yes, I - and it works under XP Pinnalle DualHead LE 5.5 Pro ( "converted" Radeon 8500) and 3D Rage LT Pro. But it will not be easy, even a PCI graphics card to find .....

That was just me ....

... what is actually the second card? (When I went to the "third" output) Build from the existing, if any on-board, you may disable it.

I do not want to gamble on the refrain, and on the GPU-supported rendering in Premiere and After Effects are not synonymous, so I'd let my 6800er drin and the PCI card, only use it to the TV anzustöpseln

hf out (the signal is called composite) with distance is the worst, which is obtained from a signal can do!
