They built a cult status, not least by the unusual moment, that here the villain is not in dark alleys waiting for their victims, but to far away, sunny fields.
And durchleidet Eva Marie Saint as Eve Kendall opaque true hellish torment, but it must be willed to their camouflage their favorite Roger in the fatal case to send, even though it actually belongs to the good. Quite clearly is synonymous to see that this film is stylistically the model for all the James Bonds is.
The style is cool, confident, arrogant (Hitchcock did not for a good director. He stayed for the greatest film makers of all time). His weak point is the careless handling with obvious bad effects, such as the famous spongy Rueckprojektionen or not lit very naturalistic sets. Today's HD movie trailers can be, perhaps because of these shortcomings less enjoy.
I wish me a lush remake of the Coen brothers, with George Clooney in the Cary Grant role.
