Frage von Alex123:

Hey,

Hab gegoogelt me here .. and now to my question:

I have a camera Sony DCR-HC17E ... Now I play the videos via a video capture so the pc .. Unfortunately, listening to 2 gb of about 16 minutes and starts on a new file to ... Why is the saved file so large?
Can not save less? I will save about an hour, but that would indeed be more than 8 gb .. is this normal?

And where can I get the right cable sony?

Had I almost thought that the problem is here! One hour of DV material corresponds well to twelve GB. If you come to less, then there is the fact that only poor quality USB webcam on level returns - USB is now thought not to capture. The solution: Get nearest electronics store in a Firewire or iLink or IEEE1394 or DV cable and you will get your material in full quality on plays.

If it is Firewire, IEEE1394, it's synonymous. The four of my above names are just different names for the same product.

I think rather that Axel123 with Windows95/98/Me or so works (still with the FAT file system instead of NTFS). Here are the file sizes limited to just 2GB and the operating system makes car a new file once this limit is reached.

With USB or Firewire has nothing to do. Either you can capture, or you can not. When it works, then it should be synonymous with full DV quality work!

Sure, it's the other problem. The demolition is expected after 2GB pretty sure it is.

That's up to each camera to the HC17 and brings the full picture only via firewire to the PC. Via USB What matters is quality downscaled.

I said it to you but just in my previous reply! Because you're probably a totally outdated operating system used, not just the files, which are larger than 2GB. - Could you yes times so respond, so we can respond in depth, or even go to google.

You have AVIs in Formal OpenDML store when the larger S.2 GB should be.

I would at 2GB files synonymous to a FAT32-formatted hard drive type. It falls apart in the video editing does not synonymous and, except for video editing is not synonymous next bad.

Some are synonymous latest external hard disks distributed with this format. As would be (without reformatting the disk) even with XP for 2GB per File Final ... If so capturing to an external target, is perhaps the reason - Alex123 had to save only "written on my PC "....

Antwort von Eva Maier:

FAT 32 can then 4 GB is set to AVI 1.0, which has as already mentioned einmasl to AVI 2.0 (OpenDML) be converted.
