Infoseite // Tripod for Arriflex SRII - Manfrotto 503HDV + 525MVB ok?

Frage von Arriflex_81:

Hello everybody!

First, the starting position:
I have an Arri SRII and would like to like some documentary photography, interior and exterior make (the easy way, apologized Off-topic nature of the question of what the non-digital camera is concerned) and even more so, looking a decent tripod.

Here are some details about the initial situation in a nutshell:
Application framework: Demanding Amateur
Camera: Arriflex SRII with Canon Zoom, Battery, ie approximately 8.5 n.with loaded magazines.
Prize Presentation for Tripod with head: max. approximately EUR 800 - 900
Tripods closely Choice: 525MVB + Manfrotto 503HDV Fluid Head
Stand Weight: Not more than 7-8 kg.

Now to the question:
Think you that I have with this combination of tripod and the Arriflex can work? Or there is more problems than pleasure? The Tripod has 15 n.Belastbarkeit the fluid head and 8 kg. Or should I invest a little more, and the head 516 or 519 take?
Please remember that all does not vollprofessionellen standards, but high-end amateur rights, with joy s.solider technology and precision engineering (hence the Arriflex SRII).
As far as I search for a first saw would probably Sachtler of my price range no tripod in question.

Thank you for your thoughts and greetings
Alex

This extra weight will endure in the head, but that they still clean pans to make, I find doubtful. If you already have with such a gem as the Arriflex rotate, the tripod would be the last thing I would save. There may come a used Sachtler head in question, but in this weight class are actually synonymous outside your budget. What the big Manfrotto heads, I have quite good experience with the models 116 MkIII and 516, but s.Sachtler they simply do not come out. With the Manfrotto legs 515/525 or 350, you are synonymous however well served.

The legs are OK. Only the head can be away. He goes up to 8kg Although in theory, but panning and tilting is no longer good.

I recommend a little deeper into the pocket to grasp and into a (used?) Sachtler, Vinten head or to invest.

Hello Bernd and Robbie,

Thank you for your answers.
I am now somewhat more accurate with Sachtler employed. Taking into account the mechanical resilience and my financial capabilities, I am on the DV 6 SB Fluid head rise.

I would find the good solution, the DV 6 SB Fluid with a solid Manfrotto Tripods to combine.

Think you, the DV 6 SB comes with the Arriflex SR cope, although he actually for DV Cams were designed?
From the resistance, which at 9 n.ausgelegt, it should actually not be a problem. Large accessories, such as large number of compendia with filters, video, etc. Assist, I will not need it, so I do not need big weight reserve.

Alex

The head is so synonymous have scheisse. With a lot of loading the pans are even worse. I advise you strongly to a film-head or a high EB-head.

Since I agree to Powermac. You can everything from the forgotten Sachteler 15. Look for Vinten. They are slightly cheaper.

Otherwise, what speaks against it, according to a used tripod around?

Hello,

against a well-preserved Occassion-Tripod, I have no objection to that. Are there specific online marketplaces, where such action is taken? On eBay and other auction platforms appear rarely or heads Tripods on the desired category.

Thanks and regards
