... Would synonymous meaningless if a DV camcorder - would have been out, because "HDD Camcoder use mostly a MPEG4 Compression. Then you would have detours encode: MPG4 -> DV -> MPEG2.

You can, of course analog CVBS, S-or better Video and Stereo RCA s.den DVD recorder and start connecting. Loss of quality when dubbing analog via S-Video are practically negligible.

Does not. Makes sense to Festplattencamcordern is the way via the PC. Videos via USB to PC hard drive copy, where's the editing software supported: cut, then again (with new MPEG-2-coding) on DVD.

If you only make hard cuts, you can sometimes (but this is a chapter for themselves) re-MPEG-2-encoding (and the associated loss of quality) bypass.
