I have a Fujitus Amilo M3438G and would like to connect our VCR s.den laptop to burn our videos to DVD.

My question is, do I need for a TV card, as proposed by the Help pages of Windows Movie Maker that you can connect the video - recorder simply s.The IEEE 1394. But how? I conclude the VCR via scart s.The FireWire jack, there are even any cable?
Or is the project of Panasonic DVD recorder z.Bsp for 400-800 euros, the qualititiv better alternative for this?

VHS is analog video. On the computer you want to have digital video. That means you need to digitize.

Nah. Because it lacks the Digitalisierapparatur. You can have a AVDV converter between VHS and IEEE 1394 interface using s.Laptop to enter the DV-AVI format to digitize. This format is good for cutting. Converting to MPEG for DVD then make various Programs.
