I am a newcomer to the subject of DVD and now have a problem which I find no information on the web.
I have a vob files on the disk in my computer. This I had renamed to mpg for viewing with the Windows Media Player can. To edit the files with Tmpgenc to, I did it again zurückbenannt to vob. With the new Media Player version 10, I can see the videos synonymous with sound. Tempgenc but claims that there is no sound. How can I repair the files?
Dnake already times in advance.

As already observed in another recent posting, a File is a VOB, which interweaves an MPEG2 image file with an AC3 or PCM File ( "muxt"), so that they will be played by the DVD player as a homogeneous, indivisible stream. Similarly, it behaves with the inferior mpg - codec. Of such software is synonymous both players will play correctly. Imported in Premiere, the image is detected, but is unable to process without further ado. Mpg for both types of files, VOB, and must first be a separation of Picture and Sound. I am a Mac user, there is the tool "bbDemux" I infer from other posts that it is in Windows "VobEdit" means. To allow a reasonable processing the sound, then this should be converted to WAV. Excuse me if I'm using some confusing terminology, but there is no PC-ler replies, I try to translate. Not everyone with older editing software for Mac is Mpeg2 cut losses on, and it is in Premiere (which I have already shared with friends at times and was instantly familiar to me) be very different. If the program to a conversion. Mov asked, my advice: Forget it! The quality losses are bitter and more than worth the effort if you want to make a Webfilmchen come of it. Back to the DVD, and everything looks similar to VHS.
