... and so much a matter s.Monopod experts: Does it make sense to put on a monopod a fluid video head? For example, a Manfrotto 501HDV head? Could imagine that the camera would be more mobile.

There are a number of Manfrotto Monopod - synonymous to a fluid head kit can do. How far can use his head then I do not know. Usually they are used to compensate for the tilt of the monopod.

I use the longer since the Manfrotto 562B. I've also been playing with the idea to mount a camera head, to, above all in order to be able to work at Tielt. For the holidays, I have been using for some time to Giotto MM9980 with the 501 HDV Head. The monopod has a fold-down clip to which you can draufsteigen for horizontal swivel, but of course, go with the 501 synonymous Vertikalschwenks pretty good.
But together safely 1,5 kg, the Manfrotto 562B for these relatively heavy head delicate, especially because there is a little lower tripod partially made of plastic.

A fluid head on a monopod that is nonsense. The above shown Manfrotto models have already installed fluid power, sits the "head" below. With a little practice be able to clean horizontal swivel.

The 561BHDV now looks good, just the fact fluidgedämpfte Vertikalschwenken has been lacking in the 562 B.
The only advantage of my most anticipated solution is now only that the 501-head can be reassembled relatively quickly synonymous to a tripod and leave the luggage is not an additional burden.

Synonymous, I thought at first, but then you have two horizontal rotations. The enclosed head is firmly screwed onto the monopod () and the fluid cartridge in the base of the monopod revolves ..... no idea whether or would interfere with a normal head. The base 561B is thus only 4KG to boot up.

There is no head BHDV buy separately ..... only the entire tripod with head, which was removed but the horizontal rotation, this rotation comes back through the fluid cartridge in the foot.
