Infoseite // Video of a JVC GR-DVX to play on the PC

Frage von Klaus Kopec:

Hello,

my friend has an old JVC GR-DVX (on the package is more accurately "Digital Video Camera JVC GR-DVX PRO EC") and would like their films digitally of the mini-DV tapes to bring the PC.
What I have found out about this: you can modify the camcorder into a kind of "control station" (namely "JLIB Digital Video Capture") plug, which has several outputs, usComposite Video and audio, and S OUT (what it is I do not). There's then a "DIGITAL" output (has about the form of a SVideo output), for which a serial cable attached. All I could achieve so far was (under Win98, because there is no newer software) on this cable to the camcorder from the PC to control.

Can anyone give a hint whether and how to do it the movies on the PC to copy? Synonymous Maybe a tip for a piece of software that runs on WinXP? A recent example camcorder with Firewire / USB, we have unfortunately not available, so this possibility retires.

Any help would be grateful
Klaus

Your so-called "digital" output, which means the shape of the S-video jack, it is synonymous IEEE1394 or Firewire means, unless you ask Sony, because it is iLink.

So you have a DV port. The notice you alone because you are somehow able to give a camera from the PC to operate.

There are, incidentally, has newer software than Win98. These include Windows 2000, Windows XP and soon Vista.

If I'm going to give a tip may Get a Windows 2000, which makes the fewest problems.

Because your camcorder is not now ever be new in order to have Firewire, USB, please remember, since he's already using this strange cradle has Firewire, you need no new synonymous.

With each commercial video editing software makes it possible to capture via Firewire, which are both under 98 as synonymous XP, and I of 98 Abrate because of the 4 GB limit on FAT32.

And if you only one synonymous expression above should not know, you please read back through all the points under the heading "/ / / Topics" on www.slashcam.de and www.edv-tipp.de

Thanks for your answer first, but I think there was probably some "small" misunderstandings:

for the "DIGITAL" output (Technically, the size and of the form (if one of the pin holes aside) identical with an S-video jack, so round and about 1cm in diameter, is) is a cable in which one s. s.den PC COM port connected (ie, a serial cable). I do not think the same socket synonymous record a Firewire cable, since I have only the example in the Wikipedia article on Firewire sighted times (and its mini-version) know.

With the phrase "under Win98, because there is no newer software," I said of course not, that there is no newer than 98 Windows, there;) but that for this JVC camcorder of officially only software, which runs until Win98, exists (and I it synonymous with the WinXP compatibility mode did not make this software to work together to talk about)

The problem is therefore still the same, because it means a Firewire jack. Has anyone other suggestions?

What the manual says? I know the camera, went synonymous and can still only of the usual standards expected.

I wanted to now no download JVC, as for this "statistical" purposes necessarily want my address.

Digital output on a serial interface sounds strange.

If a transfer via Firewire from the camera or docking station, this should be possible, you need to capture to your PC, not even an extra software. To try do it as synonymous with the s.Bord are Windows XP Movie Maker.

For longer lasting interest is one of the announced programs for which there are dozens here explicitly subforums there.

Mach doch bitte mal a photo of this so-called digital output and a photo of the cable system that belongs to the two times you can see well. Unfortunately I know nothing else at the moment to start.

Maybe someone here but synonymous with instructions of the camera and can help out.

The alternative would be an external Wandlerbox that a composite signal or an S-video signal external (outside the computer) and then digitized via Firewire (good, good, good, because DV) or via USB (evil, evil, evil, because MPEG) s.den Calculator forward.

Hi Stefan,

The GR-DVX Pro beitzt NO digital output.

The Capturebox serves only the transfer of images.

A transfer film on the digital channels directly from the camera is not possible.

Since only a nine belibt camcorder with IEEE1394 Audgang buy ....

Apparently running the Capture program in the version 2.1 still synonymous with Windows ME:

That seems the easiest way to be synonymous if any chance of such a test in the A / D converter as mentioned: "I also captured footage using DV PAL s.early JVC DV camera (JVC GR-DVX) that has no FireWire connector, using the DC's S-Video and RCA audio connectors. footage captured well and looked good "
