There comes a MiniDV cam on it with about 600 grams and will give the smoothest possible pans.
Who has a recommendation?

Had 400 of the Panasonic.
I tried both the 503 as synonymous to the 701 head on my tripod. For my application gives me the 701, I get that with proper panning head. The 503 was for my "little" DV simply "large" and I could not determine s.TV no difference in my pans. Therefore, I have naturally opted for the cheaper option ....
