.. would you buy it for video production? I'm working with Pinnacle Studio 9 and 10 (pros-version) and want the best quality 3ccd burn (up to 2 h) film. Unfortunately, I was until now never been a good DVD (4.7 GB burn), which is not jerky or s.ca. 30 minutes even parked.

Now I want to replace my Plextor PX 708A Dual burner with 8xDVD + R with a double layer for 8.8 GB media.

Here I found nothing in the forum.

The difference between RETAIL and BULK?

Retail and bulk products are mainly differentiated by the delivery. The product itself is usually exactly the same. The delivery of retail products is usually more extensive, but these are synonymous expensive. Retail products are usually in a colorful retail packaging. For retail graphics cards for example, are sometimes included more games that are not included in the bulk version. If you do not need the extras, is the bulk version of the most favorable choice.

Pinnacle Studio offers not, unfortunately, set the burn speed in Direktbrennen bwz on DVD. only marginally with the values of "slow, medium, high". I have also been updated last time the DVD Burners version of 0.7 to 1.1 (Plextor) PX-708A/T3.

Hi Aebli,

your burner is certainly not the cause of exposing the quality of the burner is not disputed. Good is the firmware upgrade, which thou hast done.

Outstanding current Burner:

Plextor 716A (already few months ago ;-)
Plextor 760A (which is the successor, not yet available)
LG GSA-4167B (no Lightscribe)
LG GSA-4166B (with Lightscribe)

Personally, I do not think it advisable to burn a DVD with Pinnacle or generally programmed with the editing too. I personally have the best experiences with Nero (6 Reloaded, the 7's version has yet to mature ..)

Render your work into a simple but hard disks, folders and leave it burning Nero. You'll see that .. funzt

Super, your tips. Get the "old" burner can burn more times via Nero and me but then one way or the time to purchase a dual-layer then. Thank you again up here!

PS: In another thread I asked for a good mic or Mgl. add language to the film. Requires an external mic is not worth anything, but one should directly via the DV camera then make the movie run on PC * * And let's take the comment on DV tape * * and then add the appropriate soundtrack to the film ... besides, jmd has another idea / tip. (?)

A good, separate microphone sounds are usually not only better s.als the camcorder's own, it is synonymous registers the drive noise of the camcorder not particularly (because it does not sit in the same enclosure).

A microphone is mono for that comment, because the spoken text will be distributed from the off with the soundtrack to the same extent on both stereo channels. If your camcorder has a microphone input and a manual level control, you can use it as a recording device.

A suitable model with 3.5 mm microphone jack, I can not tell you unfortunately.

the reason for the difference in price is probably the S-ATA connector, which the other devices are connected via IDE. The same is true of even the S-ATA and IDE Festpaltten the case.
