Infoseite // Which format and codec?

Frage von markusmuehlbacher:

Dear Forum Users,

I'm new both here in the forum, as synonymous with the DV editing only put in diapers, I beg you to excuse my expression may be amateurish way.

To my question:

When I am finished with my editing and film production to come
what video format and / or codec would you recommend me to the following aspects:

1. Raw material of Sony AVCHD Cam
2. would like to save my movies in full HD
3. synonymous in the future should further s.Calculator and TV playable (when the HD-ready)
4. Archiving is s.PC, the data should in due course, but wiederverarbeitbar be synonymous (eg, burn to Blu-Ray ,...)

'm Just not aware, which is currently or in the foreseeable future, the most common file format for storage of HD shooting is or will be.

To begin in early times many thanks for your help!

Regards,
Markus

@ Mark

Clearly there is not the vision of the future and MPEG is working for some time s.einem new codec, which is not the Real-time yet. So no one knows when it will come, but think more in periods of 5-10 years.
It should not therefore be unlikely that MPEG4 H.264 AVC and yet as long as synonymous holds in all extensions is still available, while probably no one s.Veränderungen works for MPEG2. The codec has arrived for some years s.seinen performance limits.
Also do you come with higher-quality codec of AVC anyway and it makes little sense to transfer to a lesser codec.
Along your question I would therefore advise you to stay with AVC.
(The remaining 998 reasons I am now saving time).

Depending on the length of your movie: Uncompressed AVI. Gern synonymous with Lagarith codec. You can convert later still. ;)

Antwort von WoWu:

AVI is not a codec and is in a conversion of AVCHD in addition to uncompressed file size of my positive change anything, quite the contrary. For each conversion quality is lost. The latest on the return encoding.
