Hey Leutz,
the following problem:
My Videos My Movie Maker does not open because a particular codec is not installed on my hard drive to play back the file to. He led him down is not synonymous even though it is enabled under Options! What can I do now? I ask you for help ... does anybody know anything about it?
Audio format: MPEG Layer-3
Video Format: avi

avi everything can be possible ... because the avi files only so that means that there is a video. it could mpeg 1, xvid, divx and so on. With a current estimate of download divx version, it will probably run.
looking times on vidohelp.com. there gibts freeware codecs.

Examine your avi file with Gspot (http://www.headbands.com/gspot/) or MediaInfo (http://mediainfo.sourceforge.net/de), both free.
So you can see exactly what video / audio codec you need to play.
