What is the ext. hard drive formatted? I guess that it is NTFS and can not write a Mac but only to read.

'm Not quite sure if the Mac tries to re-scan the databases, or even create - that would def on an NTFS disk. not go. Synonymous You say that you can read the details, open the Import Clips and Bins / - ie.

Because it shows not even the Project in the project selection?
Very stupid question - is the Project for the ext synonymous really. Plate on it? ôô

Hello, the record is probably really Formatted NTFS.
The Project is shown in the project selection, has a folder icon
and one synonymous sees the files it contains. Only the button "Open"
remains undrückbar: (; So nich, a Mac can work with NTFS?
Would go maybe if you copy the disk on the Mac and then
Formatted with the Mac system and then, next as an external disk used?
The problem is, a group work with Windows and the
Others, s.dem next project is to work with Mac ...

Thank you for your attention!

Ok - at least if the Avid Project as a strap that is already times it sounds not so bad.

The data exchange between Mac and PC designed in the fall as something tedious if one has no common denominator for both systems - for example, a Unity of AVID.

The only compatible file system that comes into question is FAT32.
It can read and write both operating systems. However, FAT32 only allows file sizes up to 4GB and partition sizes up to 8TB.

So if you do not OMF or MXF files on the disk that are larger than 4GB, it should work with FAT32.

Then there is the possibility of one of the two systems have a drivers for the file system of the other operating system to install. Means - eintweder you bring the Mac with NTFS write: http://www.paragon-software.com/de/home/ntfs-mac/

or do you bring your PC to write to HFS: http://www.mediafour.com/products/

I can not however guarantee you that if Avid stable. Here come (then various factors, and provision of data streams and clips together) in order to assure a smooth process.
But of course you could consolidate the data on an internal drive and you always have access to it.

But I think that it will be done with FAT32. I Can dark to remind you that we do face a time for a project saved on a FAT32-formatted disks for our Unity to get empty.

What resolution for your work in this project? Avid allows up to external hard disks. DV25-420 and DV25-411.

As a test I would propose a second ext. hard drive for testing purposes to obtain and format the s.PC with FAT32. Then a short sequence from the Avid to consolidate and the Project on it copied. Then see if he s.Mac be confused with it.

Well, thank you! Ok, so I think we make so that we format the disk with Fat32, so that both can access it without problems. The material is in DVC Pro 25, then 411, on the record. Thanks again!

So I have a few days ago, a 1:1 and 2:1 MXF project on my new Mac Pro Cut the Project crest of a customer who recorded it under Windows on an external disk. Luckily I had installed the drivers of Paragon NTFS already because I'm tucked up in front of my calculator, I thought that had not at the plate could well be formatted in NTFS. And lo and behold, everything was online and there was synonymous with cutting any problem. The next day I got the plate back to the customer of a Windows Avid with Mojo DX has connected and everything went without problems but there were s.dem Calculator stuttering during playback of 1:1 material.
