am as a musician in search of an appropriate camera in the style of a Canon HV30, etc.
Live performances and rehearsals will record them.

iMovie does not know, but basically it was a editing program no preference whether the source material of a tape or directly from the camcorder is looped through.
Try simply from:
Camcorder via firewire, as usual, with the PC, capture tool and start capturn.

Did it just short times with the HV20 + Firewire tried and it works.
About the HDMI output and with a Blackmagic Intensity should it even go in FullHD.

Hello,
did it just with the premiere SonyHC1 and tried.
It works both with the project setting HDV (1080i MPEG) as synonymous with the Cineform preset (AVI 1080i).
