I use you for some time a Canon MVX25i (not least because of Slashcam tested was quite positive) and am quite satisfied.
I do, besides the usual family and holiday videos focus on "sports" to analyze and study for themselves. Interior shots in (meistend quite poorly lit) gymnasiums.

Since the camera has its problems, but thanks to the helpful article here, as a total Film-/Videolaien something Aperture, shutter speed and 'scene building' naeherbringen movies I actually nearly no more with 'automatic' ind the results are for the private - frame quite useful.
What concerns me now are longer, since practically every month, new devices come onto the market: Has the recording quality of the newer generations so improved that the purchase of a new camera (about the same price segment around the 800-1000 euros) a noticeable improvement of image quality in "borderline situations" brings?
In the computer is 2 years (as old is the MVX25 now I think) so half an eternity and the latest generation of low-priced machine from Bloedmarkt PROPOSES 2 years old "high tech" equipment for longer.
With video cameras seems progressive miniaturization (CCDs, design) with the same format (for the moment and probably for the foreseeable future still MiniDV) is not necessarily an advantage. The newer cameras shine more in additional features (photo function, MPG recording to SD card .. nothing really penetrate what I needed). Or because I have seen about what?

the only real 'progress' in my view, is' HDV' - when you need it and is ready to begin converting entire production chain. As the sensitivity is concerned, my opinion is still the old rule: the larger the chip, the better. This includes small-and vendor-modellspez. Differences within a device class of course not enough.
