DivX503b1393 the string can easily find and exactly once in each xvidcore.dll and xvidvfw.dll
It is a normal C string, s.end ie with a null byte. The "p" is missing.
Patching you DivX503b139 replaced by DivX999b000 and the last 3 by a null character, because the new string will be shorter.
The work does not have to, because behind it are still standing format string for building a similar string "DivX" with different values and who where the p is attached to me synonymous unclear.
But if you use the format string that works with your method of adapting the source code is not synonymous.
