Have an older Yashica Samurai Video8 KX-70 and digitalis like my old movies.
Power supply is fine, but the tape that is currently inside it, can not be (warning light "CAUTION") and play not eject (tray will not open) himself.

Hello,
I had times when I SonyHi8 recently synonymous. Disconnect the power supply, wait a moment and then again to close the camcorder (whether battery or power adapter is no preference). Press the eject button.
If that does not work right away, repeat the process. At the latest after a few tries, it has worked for me.
Then I cleaned the drive yet again, because problems such as these point to the measurement error (contamination? Out) of a sensor.
