If DU in VDL on export AVI video click on the window click "Advanced", call the DivX codec and on the "Configure". Right below is a calculator icon, with which you can calculate data rates.

if a distribution höchstkomprimiertes uncompressed format, cut and re-compressed, then the quality suffers. That is not unusual.
I know with me DivX is not enough to make any now sweeping to give tips. A smart rendering in which only the changes re-calculated (in the best case, the divided GOPs closed) would be optimal now.
Maybe this approach helps you indeed for your own research.
