If iMovie (in your version yet) a HDV, is probably the easiest variant to import directly into DV.
For this you need only your HC1 properly adjusted. You can find the setting under Menu-> h Once .-> i.Link Conv where you need to "On HDV -> DV ask. Then your camera to behave like a normal DV camera iMovie, even if you are capturing in HDV.

Conv i.link - A (HDV - DV)
TV format - 4:3 You are converting the material through the Built-in converter to DV Cam. The default setting for the recording s.Mac is "HDV". This is the first fiasco.
The second law gives Silvestre: Original HDV footage is 16:9, though synonymous, and even if it is output as DV.
