I would say it was modeled with a 3D program and join animated. I do not think something like this with the same quality with After Effects can be made.

BLENDER get you then can build either the object itself or to buy for little money in the INet.
Then need to actually animate only.
Meanwhile, to a bigger part of the publicity photos of such watches all off / in 3D
...................
The rendering of this clip but leaves much to be desired still nen bissel ...
