My statement, however, related to the now available version ".3 X Ultra Fisheye Adapter" Mk II, which - as its name suggests, and at jackass wiki - a factor of 0.3 has.

I would recommend a new XM2 or a used vx1000? The XM2 I only know by sight, with the VX1000 I have worked years ago times, so a few ideas:
1. Is your kind of film one accessory display important? Then take the XM2, because it has not the VX1000.
2. You can find a used, well cared VX1000 of a reputable vendor and they can check for possible defects? What exactly is there to observe, is here in another thread have been described in detail. Just trying the search function.
3. A new XM2 is about 600 euros more expensive. What you einsparst with the VX1000, you could be in a professional Fisheye invest ...
4. Perhaps an alternative would be to your desire both synonymous models a used XM1 in question?
