I will soon go on vacation, and had asked me how expensive miniDV cassettes are having a longer recording time. I do not want to constantly have to change the tape.
However, I have found only DV tapes. My question is whether there are as synonymous MiniDV cassettes, the longer recording times than 60 minutes have? I am thinking s.unegfähr 270 minutes. Thank you ...

But apart of the technical feasibility of more than 60 minutes I would think s.deiner place, how important you are your recordings.

Hello,
a MiniDV tape is 60 minutes with tape material already completed. To achieve a longer duration, have developed some Manufacturer support material with lesser thickness, and the exhausted MiniDV format with 80 minutes running time per tape.
An even longer duration with MiniDV you can reach only in long-play mode, which is not standardized, however, is discouraged, and of the synonymous and over again. The vulnerability to drop-outs and thereby increases the compatibility with other devices MiniDV is low. Your camcorder goes broke after the recording, it is difficult to play back a tape recorded in long play somewhere else.
If you want to record up to 180 minutes running time per cartridge, you have to you a
full-size DV camcorder buy, such as the SonyVX9000. But if the holiday is more practical than s.and the occasional switch to tape ...?!

Digital8 cameras but I have several different types.
With miniDV, I play at Long synonymous never had problems. Even with different cameras do not. Not even when I have my LP tapes have given other people.
At LP, the tape speed is throttled to 75%. The head disk rotates think 'synonymous slower.

This depends, of course, synonymous with the type of tape together. Here I had probably always been lucky: I take on SonyHME on Digital8 and mini-DV on Sony premium.
Once I see the first pixel block, I rise in this thread again. I once hoped that lasts another 65 tapes :-)

because I once had so much happiness: A friend had a Digital8 tape recorded in long play. This is playing of other camcorders, but only with severe disorders. The original camera (model unknown, was somewhere on loan), meanwhile, can muster no more ... Bad luck! The tape will probably end up on the rubbish without being seen.

"Lost" is not a cassette, in the worst case, you need a "Craft-camcorder" in which one sets the track on the tape.
Then it's in any case.
(only with "written off" camcorders recommended, because the standard setting is no longer riff -> Spezialmeßgeräte required)

I was supposed to transfer the question to VHS tape for my friend, so he can watch the replays. When playing with only interference was possible, the interest went s.den shots in the sand ... was probably not so important. ;-)
