I guess my question is more s.The people who have it at some time themselves.
I have a movie in good quality for mpeg2 (about 8 mb / s) and have him back in dv (panasonic dv codec) via vdubmod transcode (25 mb / s). how much quality loss resulting or more is hardly relevant / available?
dv while using a slightly different coding procedures and should probably re-encode, but would theoretically synonymous a data rate 3 times higher ...
I would be grateful for opinions ...

Why do not you just transcodierst your mpeg to avi, then you look it s.TV s.and compare the quality / assess the possible loss of quality itself?
