You could (with considerable loss in the layout) in a Word format and convert that copy of the text in Adobe Encore. If it is only text or are there synonymous images / tables / schemes?

Yes, that is really the synonymous with the converters would work out. I do not know the format in which the patterns are then printed, but usually a good converter should include the schemas in the doc.-file.
