playout format in jungle / Final Cut Pro

Frage von dziga:
Juli 2010

Hello s.alle,

I sit at the last gasp of the cut of a 70-minute documentary film.
The film s.Festivals - is to see, therefore, ideally on the screen via video projector.
He was shot camera of X-men X-women-in formats.
romp in the timeline 1080i, 1080p, 720p and anamorphic pal.

We have cut in XDCAM 1080p because 1080p material predominates and it so was the slightest effort Render.

Now it goes slowly to playout and I thought that would be 720p on Prores422 (HQ) is a good Zieformat for the masterfile. (Calculated from the from then would mpegs etc). The Palfootage deep trouble, of course - but that is the compromise.

Would you agree on the codec, or perhaps you would prefer an uncompressed codec choose?

And how is my best way? Just before exporting as 720p or create a sequence in appropriate settings? Does that make any difference in the downscaling of the quality of the pictures?

Many thanks and greetings

If most of the material 1080p (XDCAM) is then I would stay with the output synonymous here. You should compare how much (worse) the PAL material at 1080p output looks like in Comparison to 720p. Possibly. It is still acceptable.

Antwort von Jott:

Duplicating the timeline, switch to ProRes codec, render, export, with current settings, done. This is your Master running on Mac and Windows. From that you can then generate any desired ever play media.

Take next time equal to a ProRes timeline, XDCAM makes little sense to render too much effort.

Can the timeline synonymous with Compressor to export ProRes and 720p. If no preset but give it all you have to set the Resolutionselbst.

Antwort von PowerMac:

I would simply move the timeline to ProRes 422 (HQ) in 1080th
The PAL-things I would extrapolate with a plugin. This helps very well.

The finished timeline play out just as Quicktime. With Quicktime that goes everywhere.

Antwort von dziga:

Thank you for the many tips!

convert the timeline to ProRes + Effects sounds very reasonable. The Compressor to export I do not synonymous wrong.

However, I am a little surprised that an inflation of Pal in 1080 to find a consensus here. Well, it looks like it is so in the end s.der scaling / Resolutiondes presentation medium - so I can well understand that it MCHT sense to stay at 1080.

@ PowerMac - which plugin you for recommending to the upscaling of Pal-stories? That would ne great info.
