Infoseite // there is no video device found

Frage von stereobeat:

Good evening,
Fund of the two analog-old video tapes has forced me, my old analog video camera rauszukramen and with the PC. Unfortunately, neither do I get in XP Movie Maker or Virtual Dub to the device to run. The camera is the video with my ATI Radeon X1950 connected. I take it the cable that I had with the camera was purchased. The then "Capture" with my Matrox card has worked flawlessly. In the ATI Catalyst Control Center, I have no adjustment for the video inputs and outputs found.
Has anyone any idea where the fault is?
Thank you in advance and greetings
Matthias

Hello Matthias,

from only one output signal out, but it does not go into it. In this way, the analog video will not play on the computer.

My (qualitatively oriented) Recommendation:
FireWire FAQ">Camcorder / recorder s.PC connect, capture and edit images

And possibly synonymous here (except item 3 synonymous for other video systems applicable):
Five ways to Video8/Hi8 to Digitizer

Hi Markus,
First many thanks for the quick response.

The acquisition of an A / D converter is for me and my 120min. Film material is not in question. I am only now really not clear why it is with my old 200Mhz box and the Matrox Millennium had worked. And of Firewire or Win XP, there was still no talk synonymous.

Item 4 I find interesting. The playback function of "old" Sony cameras makes me curious. I own a Sony Digital 8 (DCR-TRV145E PAL). Do we have this extra playback function on, or does the whole car when playing the tapes? Sorry the question, the manual seems like disappeared from the earth.
Thanks again
Matthias

It's like Mark has already written: The time had Matrox Video inputs, you have the ATI video on the gepimpt.

And as a necessarily only output signals "get out" you'll get the video cam because your not "reinbekommen".

;-)

Is synonymous interressant incidentally in relation to the Firewire connection with the newer camcorders: Always respect the nice thing this connection IEE synonymous "DV IN" supports. Not only DV OUT.

There are dealers for 50, - TV cards (even external) with which you can capture your signals.

Hello Chris,
synonymous if it hurts, thanks for the reply. Since I will have a "TV card" care. This notice is just how easy it with the Firewire connection has become.

... you know someone with a stand-alone DVD recorder? Then your chances are good that on the composite or S-Video s.die camera can be connected and schwupp ... You can play a DVD and the VOB files for further processing.
If you have Video 8 (not Hi8): I have just one camera and there would you like two hours to burn to DVD, if you're of course, temporarily disconnect the cassette like ...

Ouch, so it would be difficult but clearly (as with DV-AVI).

If the camcorder analog tapes can play, then it switches car shortly after the start of play on the appropriate analog format.

Try it a try! :-)
