Infoseite // wmv file is "hanging" part - how to repair?

Frage von BingoBongo:

Hello!

I have a problem with a wmv file:

When playing in Windows Media Player, there is a place to hang s.der the Picture for about 1 seconds remain, but then continues as normal.

When I play the file in other players (IrfanView, Nero) crashes the program s.genau from this point. Just depends on the Windows Movie Maker s.dieser place when you import the file, and Nero will depend on the re-encode DVD burning s.gleicher place.

How come?

If the file repairable? If I were to use another editing program, when you import does not get stuck, you could still replace rausschneiden + / - a few pictures, right? What (preferably free) Programs can you, as a substitute for the Movie Maker recommend, where applicable, less sensitive to this problem?

Toll steveb,

I have also been about a month ago in search of an answer to exactly the same question as Bingo Bongo.

Very glad to see you pointing to a page with repair tools, such Page was not really hard to find through Google, but on this Page there is just a tool, namely "Steeper", which is suitable for WMV files do not 3.1 times asftools appears here. But I have found no tool that eliminates the problem.

So here I ask the question again: I have a WMV file, (as in WMP, the picture I guess until the next key-hang or freeze frame), the sound runs next. Other Programs plunge s.dieser body from simple. How do I get the WMV file it repaired, that I can burn it on a VCD / SVCD?

Not at all. Neither the VCD or SVCD to accept a WMV file. What you need is an MPEG1 or MPEG2 compressed video.

Hi Markus,

logically I need an MPEG video, but no program I've ever used, is able to transcode them to WMV-file:

VLC plays the file while starting without errors, but in the stream output is always something missing, either the beginning of the video or the whole video or the entire sound;
TMPGENC remains somewhere on the body are defective;
Windows Movie Maker hangs well;
Nero also stops s.der question authority;
Windows Media Player 10, the video stops, the sound is running next and after some time the video is synonymous (synchronously with the next sound);
ASFTools 3.1 I've tried out repair options, the result is always the same stops: video, sound running next.

There must be somehow possible to remove the WMV file so that they do not get stuck. 'Ne VCD / SVCD / DVD I'll get even turned it into, not here lies the problem.

Anybody knows a piece of advice (as I said: executable Viedeodatei not) create disk?

I would try to tone and video separate. Do you have the time to convert file with Super (www.erightsoft.net)? Make a right dochmal mpg. file from it.

well ... maybe it would indeed synonymous to help? I think the questioner (whom I had answered in the other) has made no effort to find, one repair tools.

Hi Stefan,

I was skeptical, but I've downloaded and installed SUPER.

So far I have only the small piece that contains the error, transcoding, and - what can I say - it worked. I am absolutely delighted. Why have I found in my search SUPER never before? In any case, I am going to experiment and report back next next, at the moment I must say:

This was and is top

Dir - Stefan - many, many thanks for the tip.
