The next Apple event is scheduled for tonight at 1:00 and the official motto given out from Cupertino for this is: "Scary fast" and this could well be thematic for the upcoming switch from the M1 and M2 Apple CPUs, which were previously developed in 5 nm structure width, to 3 nm CPUs. ;)
A quick reminder: Apple already uses 3 nm structure widths for its current Bionic CPU (A17 Pro), which is used in its iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro Max models. But back to the "Scary Fast" event. If Apple does indeed introduce 3 nm M3 CPUs here, we would expect them primarily in new iMacs and MacBooks. The iMacs have not seen an update for a long time - so our tip for new launches here would definitely go in the direction of iMacs. At the beginning of the year, we had the MacBook Pro 16" with M2 Max CPU in test with 4K footage and in performance test up to 12K RAW in the slashCAM editorial office, where the M2 Max processor did very well - but in our eyes, compared to the M1 Max, did not necessarily require a hardware upgrade. However, this could make more sense with the switch to 3 nm structure width ...
