Avid presented its new Media Composer 2019 with many important innovations at its traditional Connect event in the run-up to NAB in Las Vegas. These include in particular a new media engine including a 32-bit full float color pipeline, task-based and more customizable workspaces as well as a new ACES workflow. ;) Avid Media Composer 2019 Edit Workspace
In the accompanying promotion video you get a very good first overview about the essential innovations of the Avid Media Composer 2019: In addition to the new Media Engine (which, among other things, will be able to process more parallel streams thanks to background rendering), the main focus in the development of Media Composer 2019 is on the ability to customize it according to individual tasks. Avid Media Composer workspaces can now be created for editors, loggers, assistants and producers. Thanks to the new Smart Panel interface, they only get to see the tools they need for their work. ;) Avid Media Composer 2019 Audio Workspace Besides the already mentioned new resolution support for 4K, 8K and max. 16K, Media Composer 2019 also offers support for native MXF OP1a, a new ACES workflow, HDR and of course IMF delivery. Optionally, distributed processing can be implemented for workgroups, which should be of particular importance for Media Composer | Enterprise. The new Media Composer 2019 variants - Media Composer | First, Media Composer, Media Composer | Ultimate and Media Composer | Enterprise - will be available this spring.
