The new LDP 216-251 large-format display from Viewsonic is unlikely to be of much interest to end consumers, because with an estimated price of around 180,000 euros, it is unlikely that you would spontaneously swap this device for your own TV in the living room. Especially as you first need a suitable living room wall:
With a diagonal of around 5.5 meters, you would be talking about a 216-inch display in the conventional sense. If you want to impress your friends with specifications, you won't get your money's worth either. This is because the 13 square meter display area (4.8 × 2.7 meters) can only display FullHD resolution (1,920 × 1,080 pixels). As one pixel has a side length of approx. 2.5 mm, the display only has a pixel density of approx. 10 ppi. On modern televisions or displays, the pixel density is often an order of magnitude higher.
The competition from Samsung (The Wall) delivers a significantly higher resolution and is also recommended as an alternative projector for cinemas. Viewsonic, on the other hand, sees its large format displays as being used primarily in hotel reception areas or conference rooms.

216 inch HD display from Viewsonic - LDP 216-251
With a luminosity of 600 cd/m² and a contrast ratio of 6,000:1, the display should be easy to use even in relatively bright environments.
It should only take two people around two hours to set up the entire wall. It should also be easy to repair. Even non-professionals should be able to replace individual modules using the vacuum suction tool supplied.
This should not be necessary too often, as the LEDs are promised a service life of 100,000 hours, which corresponds to over 11 years of continuous operation.
However, the LDP 216-251 cannot be described as sustainable, as it draws approx. 2,500 watts in typical operation and may even draw 4,000 watts at peak times.
It is astonishing that the display construction is only 2.5 cm thick. It is connected via HDMI. The product images indicate that two displays can also be combined to create an extremely wide 32:9 display.
