The AI-supported and completely browser-based color correction solution fylm.ai has been updated to version 1.3. Two additional tools have been added and with them a new contextual parameter pair. These parameters can be used to specify how much of the original look of the footage to be corrected should be preserved.
AI Auto Correct (right column)
The new "AI Auto Correct" function, which makes automatic improvements to the image, has two options for this purpose. If "Favor Context" is activated, the original look also sets the frame for the corrected version - it should be selected if the "image errors" are the result of a conscious, creative decision, e.g. a very dark or cool mood should be preserved. If, on the other hand, "Favor Neutrality" is clicked, the image is corrected to a neutral mood.
Likewise with the second new tool called AI Colour Match - here there are the options "Favor Context" versus "Favor Absoluteness". The latter mode extracts color grading closer to match footage, while the former preserves more of the original.
The AI Colour Extract tool, which has been available since launch, has also been extended to include these two parameters and re-trained using the same logic.
