AJA Video Systems has announced a series of several (free) updates at NAB 2024, which bring improvements to many of AJA&s hardware and software solutions for broadcast, production, post-production, and AV professionals, specifically for the real-time color management ColorBox, the converters/frame synchronizers FS-HDR and FS4, the IP video bridge BRIDGE LIVE, the video capture and playback cards KONA, Io and T-TAP, the H.264 streaming and recording device HELO PLUS, and the Diskover Media Edition software for data management. ;)
ColorBox Firmware Update 2.1The firmware update 2.1 for AJA&s ColorBox for real-time color management workflows brings several new features and improvements such as a new 4K/UltraHD down-conversion function for the SDI and HDMI outputs, and a 4K/2K crop function for the HDMI output, which allows professional users to better utilize existing HD monitoring equipment on set. The update also introduces a new ACES pipeline for the device, allowing users to load an ACES metadata file (AMF) into the ColorBox to obtain the desired transformation for improved collaboration among production participants; support for ARRI Wireless Video Optimize (WVO) LogC4, which helps eliminate banding through wireless Tx and Rx systems, and more. ;) AJA ColorBox FS-HDR Firmware Update 4.3With the FS-HDR v4.3 firmware, AJA&s real-time HDR/WCG converter and frame synchronizer FS-HDR receives the latest BBC HLG LUTs v1.7 along with updates for LUT 9 for improved reproduction of bright saturated colors and LUT 21, which offers a broader SDR color space output. A new motion adaptive deinterlacer control improves performance with some interlaced videos containing fast motion by adjusting the amount of motion adaptation used. AJA has also updated the channel-to-channel HFR sync control to be user-configurable, so it can be easily turned on or off depending on production needs. FS-HDR v4.3 will be available as a free update in Q2 2024. BRIDGE LIVE Firmware Update 1.16The update for BRIDGE LIVE, the IP video workflow bridge, brings improvements such as a new Rocky Linux 9 operating system, SRT v1.5.3 Bonding, an NDI v5.6 update with support for multiple discovery servers, AAC-HE v2 encoding/decoding, 20-bit Dolby E passthrough, and other additions that provide users with more flexibility in the field. BRIDGE LIVE v1.16 will be available for download in Q2 2024. It is free for customers with current maintenance agreements, and bug fixes are available to all users at no cost. ;) AJA FS-HDR AJA Desktop Software Update 17.1In Q2 2024, AJA Desktop Software v17.1 for AJA KONA, Io, and T-TAP products will be available as a free download update. The new version brings new features including the ability to pass metadata such as SCTE-104, Dolby Vision, Closed Captioning, and SMPTE Time Code. The release also adds support for Thunderbolt on Linux. FS4 Firmware Update 3.1Many improvements requested by users are included in the v3.1 firmware version for AJA&s FS4 four-channel 2K/HD/SD or single-channel 4K/UltraHD frame synchronizer and up/down/cross converter. The update brings enhancements such as motion adaptive deinterlacing control and improved, user-configurable channel to channel HFR sync control. FS4 v3.1 will be available as a free download update in Q2 2024. ;) AJA FS4 HELO Plus Firmware Update 2.1The free firmware update 2.1 for the HELO Plus H.264 streaming and recording device features a new SRT Stream ID parameter to Caller mode, the addition of SRT Listener mode as a user selection, a view of the B-frame setting of each encoder on the status page, and more. The update will be available as a free download in Q2 2024. Diskover Media Edition Update 2.2.3Now available, AJA Diskover Media Edition v2.2.3 delivers an enriched metadata catalog with a new arrival date attribute, a plugin for Autodesk&s popular Flow Production Tracking creative project management software (formerly ShotGrid), and a host of other useful new features for navigation, host-aware file actions, task panels, and analytics designed to streamline workflows.
