AJA updates HDR Image Analyzer 12G, announces Kona X and 12G-SDI openGear cards

AJA Video Systems has introduced several new products and updates for the IBC, which will start soon. For example, the HDR Image Analyzer 12G will receive a free update to v3.0, supporting up to four separate channels of signal analysis, up to 4x 4K/UHD. Each quadrant in the user interface (UI) is individually configurable to present an analysis tool for each of the four channels. With the update, users can access a new four-channel view to monitor each signal simultaneously, with each channel displaying the image, waveform and vectorscope, and audio measurement.
Further, it also introduces dynamic inspection and display of Dolby Vision metadata with support for Dolby Vision v4.0 and v2.9 through auto-detection to speed up color and QC workflows. The enhancement allows users to capture an SDI signal with embedded Dolby Vision metadata and display the Dolby Vision metadata in various ways.
HDR Image Analyzer 12G v3.0 further expands available device connectivity with support for additional camera protocol color spaces and more 8K formats. Users can now send full NDI 4K/UHD/2K/HD signals to HDR Image Analyzer 12G over an Ethernet connection and run them through the robust image analysis toolset just like an SDI signal without external conversion technology. Also new is native support for ARRI LogC4 analysis and additional support for the 8K/UHD2 format. 8K 2SI/SQD quad-link YCbCr at up to 60 fps, 8K 2SI/SQD quad-link RGB at up to 30 fps, and 8K dual-link YCbCr at up to 30 fps are now supported.
New 12G-SDI openGear cards
Several new 12G-SDI-openGear cards pack the functionality of AJA&s 12G-SDI audio and HDMI conversion solutions into an openGear rack-frame compatible form factor.
12G-SDI openGear card AJA OG-12G-AM
AJA OG-12G-AM and OG-12G-AMA meet the needs of high-resolution, high-frame-rate HFR workflows, and enable sixteen channels (eight two-channel pairs) of AES and analog audio embedding/cancellation, respectively. They support 12G-SDI inputs and outputs up to 4K/UltraHD.
In turn, AJA&s new OG-Hi5-12G and OG-HA5-12G cards enable 12G-SDI conversion to/from HDMI and are also available in LC and ST fiber models. Each hot-swappable board is designed for use in high-density openGear 2RU frames, including AJA OG-X-FR, offers intuitive remote control via Ross DashBoard software support on Windows, macOS and Linux, and includes a five-year warranty.
AJA OG-Hi5-12G and OG-HA5-12G are each priced at MSRP. AJA OG-12G-AM, OG-12G-AMA, OG-Hi5-12G-R and OG-HA5-12G-T are priced at MSRP per card. AJA OG-HA5-12G-T-ST and OG-Hi5-12G-R-ST are available for each.
KONA X
Also newly introduced was KONA X, the next generation of KONA desktop I/O technology with integrated streaming DMA. Compatible with the new AJA Desktop Software v17 and version 17 of AJA&s Software Development Kit (SDK), AJA KONA X is a 4-lane PCIe 3.0 card that provides ultra-low latency video capture and playback for applications in media and entertainment, live production, OEM development and more. Kona X features full-size bi-directional dual, BNC 12G-SDI and dual HDMI 2.0 connectors. With VESA HDMI I/O compatibility, the timing of the video subsystem is agnostic, allowing for recording and playback of a wide range of HDMI formats.
AJA KONA X
By performing DMA operation between the video I/O and the KONA X user buffer, the KONA X on-card memory is bypassed, allowing very low subframe latencies to be achieved, desirable in virtual productions, for example, to keep camera tracking, the LED wall and the game engine in sync.
KONA X, along with a free desktop software v17 update, will be available in Q4 2023 through AJA&s worldwide dealer network for ,695 MSRP.
