AMD now on par with Nvidia for stable diffusion

At the beginning of the year, there were already first benchmarks at Tom&s Hardware and two months ago AMD announced that there would be with further improvements in performance. Nevertheless, Nvidia&s GPUs were considered better suited hardware for the generative AI image generator Stable Diffusion - and not without reason.

After all, almost every new AI model is still developed on Nvidia&s CUDA platform. But in recent months, AMD&s Alternative ROCm really got going after a long start-up phase, and extreme development activity has been noticeable on the associated GitHub repository for a few months.

The latest benchmarks from Puget Systems, which recently measured

AMD and Nvidia cards under Stable Diffusion, also fit into the picture.

It looks like AMD can now catch up with Nvidia in this discipline as well - as usual with significantly lower hardware prices. And such a lively competition is always good news for end users, because it ultimately keeps the prices for GPUs in check.
