AMD with new mid-range GPUs - Radeon RX 7700 XT and the RX 7800 XT

AMD used the Gamescom weekend to now also upgrade its mid-range GPUs to the current RDNA 3 architecture. The RX 7700 XT and RX 7800 XT don't come with many surprises, but are interestingly priced and also have the popular game Starfield in the bundle for gamers. Current testers from the gamer community therefore believe that AMD should be well positioned against Nvidia for the coming months with these cards.
We, on the other hand, are primarily happy about the fairly clear specifications, which make it relatively easy for buyers to decide on a card. For example, there is a very clear delineation between the models in terms of memory connectivity and memory size. The new cards are listed in the product portfolio as follows:
As you can see, the RX 7800 XT should be the far more interesting model for video editing due to the larger and significantly faster memory, especially since the recommended retail prices do not differ much (489 Euros and 549 Euros, respectively). The difference in power consumption is also almost negligible (TBP 263 vs. 245 watts). Further RX7000 models are also no longer expected.
Nvidia's direct competitor in the 500 euro price range is the RTX 4060 Ti with 16 GB, which, however, only has a 128 bit memory connection with 288 GB/s. In contrast, you can currently get such performance values cheaper from Intel, whose Arc A770 models with 16GB, 256bit and 560GB/s can already be found for less than 370 Euros. However, these cards apparently lag behind cheap Nvidia cards with the current drivers even in encoding and decoding. Intel itself has not sent us a test model despite repeated requests, which is why we still could not get a personal impression of Intel's GPUs.
