ATI has introduced together with Pinnacle and Intel HD video editing on a PC. The system is based on Intel's new PCI Express bus standard, which allows data transfer within the computer that are necessary for HD editing. ATI's PCI Express VPU (Visual Processing Unit) which is integrated into the graphics card that benefits in conjunction with Pinnacle's real time HD engine possible with PCI Express data transfer rate to edit even on consumer PCs to HD. So far, real-time HD editing was possible only on professional systems with special hardware.
