This article speculates that in the future AVCHD standard format for camcorders and HDV will be replacing. In the professional segment, Panasonic already has a professional version of AVCHD, which uses 4:2:2 Farbsampling and intra-frame only compression (ie, for each image) - leading to a halving of the data rate of DVCPRO HD should lead and the problems when editing from AVCHD footage with long GOP eliminated sequences. The basis: the original AVCHD specification defines a resolution of 720x480 to 1920x1080, supports 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratios, 4:2:0 sampling, PCM (1-7.1 channel) or Dolby AC3 audio (1-5.1 channels), a maximum of 18Mbit / s and provides only tapeless recording media such as DVD, SD cards or hard drives before which in the long GOP format with I / B and P frames will be compressed.
