Accsoon has introduced the M1, an HDMI to UVC converter that can be used to turn almost any Android smartphone into a FullHD preview monitor for various cameras. Modern smartphones often have extremely good and quite large displays, which are superior to many built-in camera displays - in addition, they offer enormous computing power, which can be used for integrated monitoring functions. ;) Accsoon M1
In addition, camera output can be streamed directly to the web via RTMP protocol using the smartphone to popular video platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and Twitch, or recorded in HD quality on the phone as a proxy. Using the Accsoon SEE app (Android 8.0 and above), users get a whole host of useful tools such as waveform, magnification, false color, histogram, focus assistant and more with an interface that will be instantly familiar to filmmakers. All controls are operated via the phone&s touchscreen. The Accsoon M1 weighs only 75 grams and features a 1/4-20 mounting hole for attaching to a camera shoe with standard monitor mounts. On the top of the Accsoon M1 is a cold shoe mount for attaching other accessories such as a light, microphone, wireless receiver and more. Conveniently, the Accsoon M1 gets its power from standard Sony NP-F batteries via its battery plate. The DC output of the M1 can be used to power or charge the smartphone as well as the camera using appropriate cables. For an especially easy setup, the smartphone can also be powered only by its internal battery, so the NP-F battery is not needed. The clamping mechanism of the Accsoon M1 supports smartphones with a width between 65 mm and 90 mm and can thus be mounted with a majority of Android smartphones. ;) Accsoon M1 Monitoring Features. The weight of the M1 and phone combination is said by Accsoon to be significantly less than that of many professional monitors, making it easier to hold the device in your hand for extended periods of time. The obvious drawback to this solution, however, is that the smartphone is difficult or impossible to use as such when mounted and used as a camera monitor.
