Adobe has released the new version 25.3 of Adobe Premiere Pro (June 2025), which brings some interesting new features, such as GPU acceleration for 4:2:2 video, extended metadata-based search filters, color-coded sequence tabs, automatic data range detection, and improved color metadata management for DNxHR/DNxHD and PNG. ![]() 4:2:2 Acceleration on NVIDIA Blackwell GPUsFor several months, acceleration for 4:2:2 video material on NVIDIA GPUs of the new Blackwell architecture has been available as part of the Premiere Pro Beta. Now, with the official release to version 25.3, it has been unlocked for all users. Compared to 4:2:0, 4:2:2 video offers higher color resolution with moderate storage requirements and provides advantages for precise color correction, clean chroma keying results, and sharper text display. The GPU support should enable smooth playback and faster editing, which means a noticeable increase in efficiency for professional workflows. It is supported on all Nvidia graphics cards of the RTX50 series, as these have special hardware acceleration for 4:2:2 encoding and decoding, thus solving the computational problem. According to Nvidia, these GPUs should accelerate 4:2:2 encoding tenfold and can decode ten times as many 4K streams with 30 FPS per decoder. The Adobe Media Encoder is also ![]() Extended Filter Options Extended Filter Options in the Search PanelAlso new is the ability to work with up to eight combined filter rules in the search function of Premiere Pro. These are based on metadata such as file type, frame rate, status, audio/video content, or label colors. Users can create and save their own filters, which significantly speeds up the targeted search for clips or assets in large projects. This new feature particularly facilitates the handling of extensive media libraries by allowing users to filter their assets more specifically than before. Label Colors for Sequence TabsAnother new feature concerns the visual organization of sequences: Tabs can now be assigned individual label colors. Especially in complex projects with many parallel sequences, this color differentiation allows for faster identification and overview. ![]() Label Colors Improved Color and Data Range Handling for DNxHR/DNxHD and PNGPremiere Pro now automatically recognizes the correct data range (narrow/legal/video or full/extended) when importing DNxHR/DNxHD-MXF and PNG files based on embedded metadata. This is independent of the color depth. The pipeline also preserves "Super-Whites" and "Sub-Blacks," i.e., signals outside the standard luminance ranges. The color metadata of PNG images with CICP metadata is now also correctly interpreted and taken into account in color management. In addition, the color space can now be manually selected in the export settings when exporting DNxHR, DNxHD, and PNG files. Metadata for PNG such as Mastering Display Color Volume and Content Light Levels are now also supported in PNG export. ![]() Export Color Space Users of Adobe Premiere Pro can now upgrade to the new version to take advantage of the new features. deutsche Version dieser Seite: Adobe Premiere Pro ab sofort mit 4:2:2 Beschleunigung per Nvidia GPU und mehr |
