Many Windows users in the professional video environment might have waited for this: Premiere Pro CC, After Effects CC and Adobe Media Encoder CC now support ProRes export on Windows as well. To be more precise, two important variants of ProRes are supported as exports: ProRes 4444 and ProRes 422. ;)
On Mac systems, exporting ProRes with Adobe CC (or DaVinci Resolve) has been possible for some time. Under Windows, the current export capabilities of Apple&s widely used intraframe-based ProRes codec were limited to special tools. With the cooperation of Adobe and Apple, the pressure on Blackmagic to enable a ProRes export function under Windows is likely to increase. ;) And what should not be forgotten in this context. With ProRes RAW, Apple has also launched a compressed RAW format that is still waiting for broader support.
