At IBC, Adobe unveiled recent beta versions of Premiere Pro and After Effects with interesting news, as described earlier. At the same time, the new generative AI features also became officially available in the form of the new Firefly web app and Adobe Express Premium, which were previously in beta. Generative tools are also included in Photoshop (Generative Fill and Generative Expand) and Illustrator (Generative Recolor), and the same is expected to come to the motion apps soon.
New: Credit-based model for generative AI
The application of all these apps and features are basically included in Adobe subscription plans, but the features are computationally expensive. Therefore, starting November 1, Adobe will introduce a new credits-based model for generative AI across all offerings. For example, paid Creative Cloud, Firefly and Adobe Express plans will include a monthly allocation of "fast" Generative Credits. These are tokens that allow users* to convert text-based prompts into image and vector content in Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe Express, and Firefly.
Generative Recolor, Generative Fill, and Text Effects
After the number of "fast" Generative Credits set for the plan is used up, subscribers* can continue to create content at slower speeds or purchase additional Generative Credits through a paid Firefly subscription plan. 100 credits will cost 4.99/month it seems.
Content Credentials for Firefly Content
Adobe also announced that by default, Firefly adds content credentials to every asset created with Firefly to indicate that generative AI was used. This is intended to provide greater trust and transparency in the use of digital content. Content Credentials can display information such as the name of an asset, the date it was created, the tools used to create it, and any edits made. This data is based on free, open-source technology from the Content Authenticity Initiative - led by Adobe - (CAI) and is intended to remain associated with content wherever it is used, published, or stored to enable proper attribution.
Adobe Creative Cloud to become more expensive
In related news, it was also revealed that there will be price increases on Adobe Creative Cloud single app and all-apps plans - existing customers have already been notified in this regard. The single-product subscriptions will cost and per month more, depending on the payment method, while the all-apps subscriptions will increase by and .50 per month, respectively (Euro prices are not currently available).
