Adobe tests new subscription models in America - generative video AI gets cheaper?

For Adobe Creative Cloud subscribers in North America, prices and included services will change from mid-June. The price structure is not changing in this country (according to Adobe at this time); nevertheless, it is worth taking an informative look at the changes. Sooner or later, similar adjustments are likely to take effect worldwide, as the new plans differ primarily in the use of computing-intensive, generative AI tools.
New: Creative Cloud Pro with generative AI
The Creative Cloud All Apps plan with over 20 apps will now be converted to "Creative Cloud Pro". In addition to unlimited access to standard image and vector generation features, including Generative Fill in Photoshop, it also includes 4000 generative credits per month for premium video and audio creation features, including Image to Video, Translate Video and Translate Audio in Adobe Firefly and Generative Extend in Premiere Pro.

Also, only in the new Pro version can generative AI models that do not come from Adobe be used directly in Adobe Firefly, e.g. OpenAI GPT image generation, Google Imagen and Veo as well as Flux. The ability to create multiple boards in Firefly Boards (Beta), the new conceptualization and moodboarding tool in Adobe Firefly, is also a Pro feature.
The Alternative: Creative Cloud Standard
Those who rarely or never use AI functions have "Creative Cloud Standard" as an alternative. This subscription still includes more than 20 desktop applications, but with limited access to generative AI functions, reduced generative credits and no premium access to web and mobile applications. According to the function comparison, the standard version does not allow any use of generative video.
And the prices? Rising - and falling
The Creative Cloud Pro annual subscription costs .99 per month (net), the Standard subscription .99. Previously, the All Apps subscription cost .99 - largely without AI functions, the new Standard subscription makes it somewhat cheaper to work. At first glance, the use including video AI tools is more expensive again. However, 4000 AI credits per month are now included, while previously it was hardly possible to work with KI-generative in video practice without an additional Firefly Pro subscription.
Firefly Pro costs about a month extra and comes with 7000 credits. If you can get by with the 4000 credits included from June instead, you will even save something in the end. The Firefly Standard subscription costs and comes with 2000 monthly credits; for the same money, the new Creative Cloud Pro annual subscription gives you twice as many credits. However, the Firefly subscriptions can be cancelled monthly, so they can be added and cancelled again as needed, while the prices mentioned here for the new complete subscriptions refer to the subscriptions that can only be cancelled annually.
It should be noted that these changes only affect users in North America at this time. And even there, the single subscriptions remain unchanged at the moment.
