Alienware has unveiled the world&s first Quantum Dot OLED gaming monitor, the Alienware 34 Curved QD-OLED (AW3423DW), whose features also make it interesting for professional video work. For example, its curved 1800R panel has an impressive peak brightness of 1,000 nits as well as DisplayHDR 400 True Black certification and fully covers the entire DCI-P3 color space. It is also factory color calibrated and can switch between DCI-P3 (native) and sRGB color spaces for precise color accuracy via Creator Mode presets - including gamma adjustment.

Its resolution is 3,440 x 1,440 pixels, which is typical for a widescreen monitor, the maximum refresh rate via HDMI 2.0 (unfortunately not 2.1) is 100 Hz, via DisplayPort up to 175 Hz - dynamic frequencies are displayed via Nvidia G-Sync Ultimate. The other interfaces include a separate audio and headphone output as well as a USB hub with four ports. The very low response time of 0.1 ms (gray to gray) is interesting for gamers.
By combining Quantum Dot with OLED for the first time, the advantages of both technologies are said to be combined to deliver high color performance including consistent color uniformity, wide color coverage and high brightness. For better ergonomics, the TÜV-certified ComfortView Plus reduces harmful blue light emissions without compromising the QD OLED colors.
The price of the Alienware 34 Curved QD-OLED Gaming Monitor (AW3423DW) is to be announced when shipping is imminent. Alienware will offer a three-year limited hardware warranty, which also covers the infamous OLED burn-in.
