Traditional manufacturer Angénieux completes its multi-format EZ Zoom series with the EZ3 45-165mm T2.3/T3 (S35) / 68-250 T3.5/T4.5 (FF). As with the EZ1 30-90 (S35)/45-135 (FF) and the EZ 2 15-40 (S35)/22-60 (FF) zoom, the rear lens group (IRO=Interchangeable Rear Optics) of the new Angénieux EZ3 zoom can be changed by the user for optimal conversion to either S35 or FF sensor hoods.
With the Angénieux EZ3, Angénieux is now introducing a new "quick IRO" mechanism that is designed to greatly simplify and speed up the S35/FF changeover. Accordingly, Angénieux now quotes a time of 5 minutes for the EZ3 conversion.

Originally developed for independent filmmakers and productions, Angénieux Zooms are now also widely used in distribution and larger film productions, according to Angénieux.
Angénieux has not yet announced a price for the 45-165mm T2.3/T3 (S35) / 68-250 T3.5/T4.5 (FF) EZ3, which will be shown for the first time at IBC in Amsterdam. The previous Angénieux EZ1 and EZ2 are around 17,000 euros each.
