Apple: New Mac Pro with max. 28 Core Xeon CPU +

We had already speculated about the upcoming Mac Pro at here and in fact there is a lot to be found in the new Mac Pro. The new Mac Pro will be equipped with 28 Core Intel Xeon CPUs in its maximum configuration and will be able to run two AMD Radeon Pro Vega II Duo GPUs with max. 64 GB Video RAM (56.4 Teraflops Half Precision) with its 1.4 kilowatt power supply. According to our calculations this would be a Quad(!)-GPU system.

In addition, Apple is also integrating its own Afterburner acceleration card for ProRes and ProRes RAW acceleration into Final Cut Pro X, QuickTime X and other third party apps in the new Mac Pros 2019. Interestingly, Adobe and Blackmagic logos were also featured in this context at the WWDC presentation...

The new Apple Afterburner accelerator card is designed as a PCI Express x16 card.

The new Mac Pro 2019 offers a total of 8 PCI Express expansion slots, two MPX modules or four PCI Express card slots. Each MPX module provides:

- x16 gen 3 bandwidth / graphics
- x8 gen 3 bandwidth / Thunderbolt
- DisplayPort / video routing
- up to 500W per MPX module

The new Mac Pros 2019 should be available in autumn and start at 5.999,- Dollar
