Even if the feeling at present clearly says "winter": Astronomically speaking, autumn does not end until 22 December. And since "Coming this Fall" is still emblazoned on Apple&s Mac Pro pages, Apple theoretically has until shortly before Christmas. But the Mac Pro doesn&t seem to be removed that long, because the first notifications were now sent with a defined order date (December 10th):
We had already speculated about the upcoming Mac Pro several times this year: here and here.
We are especially curious about the performance as well as the price of Apple&s own acceleration card "Afterburner" which is advertised as Field Programmable Gate Array especially for the acceleration of ProRes RAW. Also on board seems to be Adobe. At Blackmagic we still see a question mark because Blackmagic would have to support ProRes Raw for this. With the recent Apple&s failed attempt to invalidate the very broad RAW patents of RED, the ProRes RAW topic should not have become less complicated.
There doesn&t seem to be a delivery date for the new Apple MacPro yet, but in the past Apple was able to provide delivery dates comparatively quickly after the order date ...
