Initially only in the USA: The Apple Vision Pro will be available to pre-order from January 19 - according to Apple, the Vision Pro will then also be available in U.S. Apple Stores and via the online store from February 2. Apple quotes the price for the model with 256 GB memory at 3,499 dollars. ;)
We had already reported in detail about the Apple Vision Pro at  here on slashCAM. In December, Apple created the prerequisites for the iPhone 15 Pro to be able to record spatial video with the iOS 17.2 update. ;) The decisive factor for the success of the Apple Vision Pro is likely to be how willing interested users are to wear the headset. Up to now, such headsets have been rather poorly received. However, this should provide Apple with more favorable starting conditions: With the iPhone 15 Pro, Apple is in the rather unique position of being able to offer an attractive and easy-to-use production system for stereoscopic content with high distribution. In our eyes, the iPhone is likely to be the decisive lever for the Vision Pro. If Apple manages to make wearing the mixed reality headset "cool", the chances of success are not bad at all. This is exactly where the freshly released Apple commercial for the Vision Pro comes in: If Apple also launches more affordable models on the market in the future, a new moving image market could actually emerge here ... Both on the production side with the iPhone Pro and on the "projection" side, we are already very excited about the Apple Vision Pro.
